A tuberous perennial native to Brazil. It belongs to the Gesneriaceae family and features a large, prominent above-ground or semi-submerged storage structure (caudex), paired green leaves, and bright salmon, orange-red, or light red tubular flowers with distinct spotting.

  • Light: filtered sun
  • Soil: cactus mix with added grit to ensure fast draining
  • Water: allow to dry between watering.  Less during dormancy
  • Fertilizer: spring
