Isopods are a diverse order of crustaceans, know to most as terrestrial creatures like pill pugs. Ranging in size from a few millimeters to the large giant isopod, these invertebrates are characterized by their segmented bodies, armor-like plates, and multiple pairs of legs. They play a crucial role as decomposers in various ecosystems and are popular as pets and in bioactive terrarium setups.
