The leaves of Hoya macrophylla 'Pot of Gold' are thick, waxy, and oblong-shaped. They exhibit a mesmerizing reverse variegation pattern, with creamy yellow centers surrounded by deep green margins. The variegation can vary in intensity depending on the amount of light the plant receives.

This Hoya produces umbels of fragrant flowers, which are typically pink or reddish with a star-like shape. The flowers bloom in clusters and emit a sweet, honey-like scent, especially in the evenings.
