Astrophytum asterias, also known as the Sand Dollar Cactus or Star Cactus.

Distinctive Features:

  • Spineless body: Unlike many cacti, Astrophytum asterias lacks spines, giving it a smooth, almost velvety texture.
  • Star-shaped form: The cactus has 8 distinct ribs that give it a star-like appearance when viewed from above.
  • White speckles: The surface is covered in tiny white scales called trichomes, which create a speckled pattern.
  • Attractive flowers: It produces beautiful yellow flowers with red centers during the blooming season.
  • Light: filtered sun
  • Soil: cactus mix
  • Water: allow to dry between watering.  Less during winter season
  • Fertilizer: growing season
