The plant has low to medium light requirements and can thrive in shady places. Anubias nana is a slow-growing plant that can reach 5–10 cm in height, with rhizomes that can be 10–15 cm or more. It has lush leaves that can survive for several years, giving slow-growing algae the chance to become established
