agapetes serpens - 3"

Aka Himalayan Lantern.

The plant is highly prized by collectors for its large, woody, potato-like basal tuber (caudex) that stores water, from which long, arching, serpentine branches cascade downward. Between winter and summer, its branches become heavily draped in striking, 1-inch-long, bright red, lantern-shaped flowers patterned with darker chevrons. These nectar-rich blooms are a massive favorite for hummingbirds and are followed by edible, translucent lavender-purple berries.
