Dischidia nummularia 'Dragon Jade' - HB

$ 68.00

 Unusual form of the common Dischidia nummularifolia (some sources said to be a hybrid) originated from Japan and sought after by many plant enthusiasts as it is rarely seen in cultivation now. It is characterized by very curly foliage resembling pebbles, densely rises around slender weeping stem. Once the stem stretches over 6", it usually produces new branches at base.

Despite low growing, it is an easy plant, even in lower average humidity and it's also fairly cold hardy.

The plant you will be receiving is similiar to the one shown but not the same.  Most will contain 2+ stems.  We have found that it does well in East or SW facing where it does get bright indirect light.  Humidity is key as it is an epiphytic plant.  Color of the leaves range from light to dark green.  Despite looking fragile they are quite sturdy and leaves/stem do not easily break or fall apart.  Yellowing of leaves are a sign of low humidity, low watering.

Plants will be shipped as shown in 3" nursery pot set in coir/perlite mix.  We recommend that you transfer to terra cotta pot with lots of aeration and draining after acclimating to their new home.
