Myrtillocactus geometrizans cristata - 4"
Myrtillocactus geometrizans cristata, commonly known as the Crested Blue Candle Cactus, is a unique and sought-after cactus due to its unusual growth pattern.
- nlike the typical columnar growth of the standard Myrtillocactus geometrizans, the cristata form exhibits a fascinating fan-like or brain-like crest. This is caused by a mutation that results in abnormal cell growth at the growing tip.
- Blue-Gray Color: The stems maintain the characteristic blue-gray color of the species, sometimes with hints of green or purple, depending on light exposure.
- Compact Size: Compared to the towering heights its non-crested counterpart can reach, the Crested Blue Candle typically stays much smaller, making it ideal for container gardening.
- Spines: While the standard form has prominent spines, the cristata form often has fewer and shorter spines, making it slightly less prickly to handle.
- Light: sun
- Soil: cactus mix
- Water: sparingly
- Fertilizer: spring
