Nepenthes alata - HB 6" (rescue)
Nepenthes alata, also known as the pitcher plant, is a tropical carnivorous plant native to the Philippines. It has strap-like leaves with a long midrib that acts as a tendril, and can end in a hollow pitcher that hangs down and has two vertical ridges at the front. The pitchers can grow up to 8 inches tall and have intense red speckling. The plant uses its nectar to attract insects, which drown in the pitcher and are digested by the plant.
