Meet John
Most of you recognize Neil in most of our social media and YouTube videos. But there's this guy who pretty much stays BTS focusing on acquiring all the ooh and ahhhs exotic plants when you visit our store. When you visit us or shop online, you're experiencing John's vision of all the plants living in his "jungle mind".
Growing up in Hawaii, John has always been surrounded by lush tropical greenery whether on hikes in the mountains, growing coconut and guava in their family backyard, or collecting vast orchids to hang along the garage siding. John left for college getting his degree in Microbiology, Pre-Med, and Chemistry. After some time working in the medical field, he felt an urge to reconnect with nature and acquired an AA in Landscape horticulture and worked with various nurseries until he was able to incorporate some plants in a clothing business he was running with his partner, Neil.
From a little section of succulents to a wall of kokedama, and now a 5000 sq ft tropical oasis, John wakes up every morning excited to be surrounded by plants. His meticulous eye for detail and love of nature can be felt by all those who visit.
